APD makes arrests in ongoing drug investigation Lorenza Dorsey—Captain

AUBURN, Ala.-On February 19, 2020, Quinard Demon Melton, age 32, and Tevin Dawayne Spinks, age 27, both from Auburn, were taken into custody by members of the Auburn Police Division Narcotics Unit and the Lee County Tactical Unit at a residence in the1000 block of Eagle Circle in Auburn. Melton and Spinks were both arrested on felony warrants charging them each with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Marijuana 1stDegree.

The arrests stem from an ongoing investigation by Auburn Police into illegal drug activity at the residence. A subsequent search at the residence resulted in the discovery and seizure of a quantity of marijuana, cocaine, and methamphetamine pills.

Melton and Spinks were both transported to the Lee County Detention Facility and were being held on a $6,000.00 bond. Spinks also has outstanding warrants on unrelated charges of Failure to Appear through the Auburn Police Division and Lee County Sherriff’s office. Additionally, Spinks is being held on a probation violation on a previous charge of Possession of Marijuana with the Henry County Alabama Sheriff’s Office.
