Auburn Police make two arrests in automobile burglaries

AUBURN, Ala.- On March 25, 2020, Auburn Police arrested Jaquavion Dequan Jackson, age 20, and Jamelah Rakhia Williams, age 18, both from Auburn on warrants charging them with multiple counts of breaking and entering of an auto and theft of property.

At about 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning, Auburn Police Division officers responded to an auto burglary in progress call at a residence in the 1100 block of Northwood Drive. Responding officers located and contacted Jackson and Williams, who matched the descriptions previously provided to police, in the vicinity. During the course of the preliminary investigation, it was determined that they were responsible for unlawfully entering vehicles.

Further, property taken during recent auto burglaries, one of which occurred on March 19, 2020, in the 400 block of Wright’s Mill Road, was recovered in their possession. Both subjects were subsequently taken into custody and transported to the Auburn Police Division.

Additionally, Jackson was also wanted and arrested on outstanding warrants for auto burglaries that occurred in the 600 block of Shug Jordan Parkway on Nov. 17, 2019.

Jackson and Williams were later transported to the Lee County Jail where they were being held on a $33,000 bond and $17,000 bond respectively. Additional charges are anticipated as this case remains under investigation by the Auburn Police Division.
